Villa L is a two-story timber house built around a simple idea: a clear structural grid that gives the building its rhythm and character. Deep frames cast shade across the facade and create a timeless pattern that ages well. It’s quiet architecture—restrained, durable, and honest about what it is. I worked with full-height glazing to open the rooms completely to the surrounding landscape. The windows bring generous daylight deep into the plan and extend family life out onto the garden terraces. Living here means you’re always connected to the seasons and what’s happening outside.

The materials are straightforward: warm natural wood and clear proportions that create a calm backdrop for everyday routines and gatherings. No decoration, just space that works. The grid structure also offers flexibility—rooms can adapt as the family’s needs change over the years. Sheltered outdoor rooms make the house comfortable year-round, not just in summer. The deep overhangs protect against rain and sun, so the terraces become genuine living spaces across all seasons. Bold form balanced with quiet, practical performance—that’s what I was after.
